1 Mineral Lowers Blood Pressure…Prevent Heart Attack & Stroke
Welcome, everyone. Dr. Mandel here. High blood pressure is a major epidemic worldwide, and there are many causes from stress, genetics, over fat, overweight, poor diet, and the list goes on. Although today, I’m going to share with you something very special a mineral that’s going to make huge changes to help your blood pressure.
Magnesium is that super mineral as it performs over 300 different bodily functions within our body. Magnesium also helps your blood sugar, your muscles, as well as your nerve function. Magnesium plays a very important role with other electrolytes like calcium, potassium, as well as sodium.
Now, what I love about magnesium, not only will this help you sleep like a baby and help your body relax, but it will also relax those blood vessels, those arterial walls. When that heart is pumping and those blood vessels start to expand, that lowers your blood pressure significantly.
The big problem with magnesium is that most of it is stored in the cells and not in our blood. So when we get our magnesium checked with our lab work, it’s not truly accurate. The other problem is our soils. The foods we’re eating with magnesium were probably being depleted.
Now, what about the processed foods, the high sugars, the stress? That all depletes magnesium out of our system? Now, the recommended daily allowance is approximately 400 milligrams of magnesium a day.
It’s always best to get this from your food, especially dark green leafy vegetables, unrefined grains and legumes. Now, there are many different forms of magnesium, but I like magnesium glycinates. They seem to absorb very well into the body and have the least amount of side effects.
So magnesium is not only great for the blood vessels and heart, it will help you sleep like a baby. It will help your anxiety and allow those muscles to relax.
