Many people think that olive oil’s fattening will help you gain weight. That’s not true. Olive oil has an effect on your hormones. It will give you more satiety. And one of the main contributors to cancer is oxidative damage, oxidative stress, and that’s due to the harmful molecules called free radicals. And because extra virgin olive oil is high in antioxidants, this helps reduce that oxidative damage.
And it’s the oleic acid that’s highly resistant to oxidation that’s been shown to slow the growth and spread of those cancer cells. And because extra virgin olive oil is an effective antioxidant which protects the brain from free radical damage, the vitamin e helps to maintain a good memory, slow memory loss and significantly reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
