Like other teas, green tea brings down the bad cholesterol or ldl levels in triglycerides. These are the fats that plaque within your blood vessels, making it difficult for blood to flow. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants such as polyphenols and flavonoids that not only boost your immunity, but can also protect you against the cold and flu.

Green tea helps prevent wrinkles, keeping your skin healthy. And green tea is rich in catechins, particularly epigallocaticin galate, a potent antioxidant. These compounds have been shown to have thermogenic properties and this is how the body stimulates thermogenesis, the process by which the body produces heat and burns calories, leading to an increase in metabolism.

And the research suggests that the catechins in green tea increases the rate of fat oxidation, allowing the body to break down more fat, effectively eating and weight loss and green tea can help regulate your appetite, reducing the caloric intake to help support your weight management efforts. And green tea has powerful antiinflammatory properties.

Those certain compounds in green tea has been found to exhibit antiinflammatory effects. Chronic inflammation is associated with increased risk of cancer and substances that reduce that inflammation plays a role in cancer prevention.

There is no doubt that drinking green tea at the right times will definitely boost your metabolism. It’s an antiinflammatory, antiardic, antibacterial, antioxidant, antiviral and neuroprotective, meaning it protects your central nervous system as well as your brain.

There are many different kinds of green tea. One of my favorites is matcha green tea. Drinking green tea first thing in the morning can really boost that metabolism. Your metabolism is already increased, although the amino acid ltheanine helps relax you and this will prevent that caffeine rush and gives you sustained energy throughout several hours instead.

So many of you may be concerned about the amount of caffeine and green tea. It’s about 35 milligrams as compared to coffee, which is closer to 100. Drinking green tea before you go to bed can also be a great asset in speeding up your metabolism.

Your metabolism is slowing down towards those wee hours of the night, so drinking green tea about an hour before you go to bed can really make big changes. If you notice that this affects your sleep, then drink it 2 hours before you go to bed now drinking green tea before your meals can also be an acid but I would give it at least 30 minutes.

Why? Because drinking green tea with your meals can affect the absorption of iron. Although if you have a sensitive stomach and you need to drink green tea even after your meal, take something that has vitamin C in it. It may be your green leafy vegetables or your fruits.

And if you really want to boost that metabolism to the roof, drinking three glasses of green tea the day before you exercise as well as one glass of green tea one half hour to 1 hour before that exercise that will really increase that fat burning.

Because green tea has so many healing medicinal benefits, get it into your diet. I really believe it will make great changes for your health and for your weight loss.
