So don’t be fooled by the size because these chia seeds has a very powerful nutritious punch. Just in 28 grams, which is equivalent to 1oz or two tablespoons. You’re getting 11 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein, 9 grams of fat, which five of them are composed of omega threes.

So you’re getting 18% of calcium of the RDI, 30% of manganese and 30% of magnesium and 27% of phosphorus, along with a decent amount of zinc, b three, potassium, b one and B two, all from that one oz of those chia seeds.

Chia seeds are loaded with high antioxidant content. This fights the production of free radicals, which can lead to damaged cell molecules that contribute to aging and diseases. But what’s really interesting is that chia seeds, gram for gram, has more omega three S than salmon. Now, here’s what’s important. 1oz of chia seeds has 12 grams of carbohydrates.

But out of those 12 grams, eleven of them are fiber. So fiber neither raises blood sugar nor requires insulin to be disposed of. Even though it belongs to the carbohydrate family, its health effects are drastically different from those digestible carbs like starch and sugar.

So the end result is 1 gram of carbohydrate, which is why it’s so effective in every kind of low carbohydrate diet. The chia seed is such a high soluble content, it can retain up to twelve times its weight in water as it absorbs that fluid, filling that chia seed up.

So what does that mean? That means that gel like substance continues to expand in your stomach, giving you that increased fullness as it slows the absorption of your food and helps you automatically eat less calories.

And because it has so much fiber seed in it, your gut is going to love you as it will continue to feed the friendly bacteria in your intestines, which will keep your gut flora well fed, which is critical for good health and a strong immune system.

There are many ways to eat chia seeds. Do not eat them dry. Many people put them in a blender with other fruits. I like to make my chia pudding, which is so simple. Take my chia seeds, put it in a big cup or a bowl. I like to put about one four to one five the amount of the size that I’m using. I take my cacao powder, which is just filled with great minerals and vitamins and great antioxidants.

I put about a tablespoon for me. You may want to put a teaspoon or two. Whatever’s good for you. I love my cinnamon. That kind of sweetens it up. You can use vanilla. I do not use any sugar. And I love my almond milk. Why? Because there is no sugar in it. And again, the almond milk has vanilla in it. It’s unsweetened, and I highly recommend that as well.

Once you put it in there, just stir it up. Stir it up for a minute or two. I put a Saran wrap over the cup, put it in the refrigerator for a few hours or even overnight. And the next day or several hours later, you are ready to go at it. And it is delicious. So start eating your chia seeds.

It’s not only excellent for the health of your body, but you will see a tremendous change when it comes to losing weight. Please share this with your friends and family. Leave your comments below. And most important, make it a great day. I’m Dr. Alan Mandel.
