Well, what do we do about it? Do we just go on for the ride like we’ve always been doing? Or we put a stop to this serious problem? Well, look at this. One can of a twelve ounce can of Pepsi has 41 grams of sugar. And guess what? That 41 grams of sugar has been added to it.

That’s additional sugar. And the American Heart Association suggests an added sugar limit of no more than 100 calories per day, which is about six teaspoons, or 24 grams of sugar for most women, and no more than 150 calories per day.

About nine teaspoons, or 36 grams of sugar for men. And we’ve already surpassed that amount of sugar drinking one can of Pepsi. There is no nutritional value of white refined sugars. So why is it on all cigarettes? You’ll see a Surgeon’s General warning saying smoking causes lung cancer, heart disease, emphysema and may complicate pregnancy.

And there is also a warning on all alcoholic beverages. It says women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects and consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery and may cause health problems. So here’s my problem that gets me upset.

With all these soft drink fountains, all these sodas, all these refined sugars that’s in so many different types of beverages and foods, how come there’s no warning sign? How come that the average consumer does not know if this is going to cause diabetes?

They might, but many don’t. Insulin resistance, heart disease, clogging of the arteries, kidney problems, autoimmune problems, weight gain. And though this will go on, I feel that if you’re having a significant amount of sugars in a particular food or drink, there should be a warning sign.

Because therefore the person becomes more educated so they can make better decisions. And I’m not here to tell you that you should or should not eat it. I am here to say that education is definitely the way to go. Thank you for making time to listen to this video.
