One Vital Vitamin That Nourishes Your Nerves and Brain

There is so much to learn about our brains. This is our central nervous system. This is the system that controls and regulates every tissue, organ and cell within our body. And we call the brain the mystery brain, because there’s so much to learn about it that we don’t know. But what we do know that we call now the mystery vitamin.

This mystery vitamin right here, what’s inside this capsule, is vitamin C. Firstly, vitamin C acts as a potent antioxidant, protecting the brain from oxidative stress and damage caused by these harmful free radicals.

And this protection helps preserve the integrity of the brain cells and supports healthy neuronal communication. And furthermore, vitamin C is involved in the synthesis and maintenance of the neurotransmitters in the brain, the chemical messengers that facilitate communication between the brain cells.

And it aids in the production of key neurotransmitters like dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin, which are essential for regulating our mood, attention and overall mental health. And when we think of collagen, vitamin C is necessary to help produce collagen.

And we think of collagen, we think of our skin. But what about our tendons, our ligaments, our fascia, as well as those proteins that forms the framework of blood vessels in the brain? And by maintaining the integrity of these blood vessels, vitamin C helps ensure adequate blood supply and oxygen to the brain, supporting optimal health and cognitive function.

And vitamin C plays a vital role in the formation and maintenance of myelin, the protective sheath that surrounds nerve fibers throughout the entire body. But this insulation enhances the efficiency of nerve signal transmission, promoting faster and more reliable communication within the brain.

So when you look at wires, the rubber around the wires is the insulation to that wire, so the transmission of electricity can run perfectly. But it’s the same way in our central nervous system. Around those nerves, there’s a covering called a myelin sheath.

And conditions like neuropathies, diabetic neuropathies, types of diseases that affect the nerves, affects the myelin sheath. And this is when we experience pain, tingling, numbness, cramping, burning, because the myelin sheath has been injured. And that’s why vitamin C makes a tremendous difference when it comes down to supporting our brain health.

So the neurotransmitters continue to fire correctly as our cognitive skills continue to increase and grow. And vitamin C is tied into neurogenesis, the regeneration of these new neurons in certain regions of the brain, and this is extremely important for learning, memory and overall brain plasticity. And vitamin C has been linked to improved mood and reduced symptoms of depression.

It acts as a cofactor in the production of the neurotransmitters like serotonin, which plays a vital role in regulating our mood and emotional well being. And without adequate amounts of vitamin C, the brain just does not function correctly.

So I do hope that this video will give you a better perspective of the importance of what vitamin C can do for our brain.

Our neuroplasticity, the effect of helping the myelin sheath, which is surrounding all those billions of nerves within our body, to allow that transmission of impulses to occur from our hands to our brain to our feet, from our brain, from our brain to our muscles, the communication that goes on through our entire nervous system, as well as the peripheral nervous system that myelin sheath needs. Vitamin C.

And vitamin C is found in our citrus fruits like our oranges, our lemons, our limes, our grapefruits, our strawberries, our kiwis, our peppers, many of our green vegetables, spinach and broccoli. And if you’re not a fruit and vegetable eater, you could always supplement.

So make sure you’re getting your vitamin C because I promise you, your brain will love you. Leave your comments below. Please share this video with your friends and family. And most important, make it a great day. I’m Dr. Alan Mandel.
